Let’s take a look at how to integrate Mailchimp and Interakt, which will enable you to automatically send WhatsApp messages to your new Mailchimp subscribers.
The procedure necessitates a one-time setup that can be accomplished effortlessly with the aid of Pabbly Connect.
To begin, we’ll establish a connection between Mailchimp and Pabbly Connect to collect information about newly added subscribers. Then, we’ll link Pabbly Connect to Interakt, which will allow us to send WhatsApp messages to your Mailchimp subscribers automatically.
Steps to Automatically Send WhatsApp Messages to Mailchimp Subscribers
1. Sign In / Sign Up to Pabbly Connect and Create a Workflow
2. Setup Mailchimp as the Trigger App to Gather Subscriber Details
3. Setup Interakt as the Action App to Send Messages
Step 1:- Sign In / Sign Up to Pabbly Connect and Create a Workflow

B. Create Workflow
To create a new workflow, click the ‘Create Workflow’ button.
Name your workflow, and click on ‘Create’.
Step 2:- Setup Mailchimp as the Trigger App to Gather Subscriber Details
Next, we will explore the process of establishing a connection between Mailchimp and Pabbly Connect, which will enable us to collect the information of Mailchimp subscribers.
A. Trigger App
Trigger enables us to select the application from which Pabbly Connect will retrieve the data. In this instance, it would be Mailchimp.
Choose ‘Mailchimp’ as the Trigger App and select ‘New Subscriber’ as a Trigger Event.
B. Webhook URL
You will be provided with a new Webhook URL which will be used to connect your Mailchimp account. Copy the Webhook URL.
Once you have copied the Webhook URL, Pabbly Connect will immediately begin searching for data from Mailchimp, as indicated by the rotating Waiting for Webhook Response button.
C. Connect Mailchimp Account
To connect your Mailchimp account, go to your Mailchimp Audience page, and click on ‘Audience dashboard’ > ‘Manage Audience’ > ‘Settings’.
Scroll down and click on ‘Webhooks’ > ‘Create New Webhook’.
To proceed, paste the previously copied Webhook URL, ensure that only the ‘Subscribers’ option is selected under Type of Updates, select ‘Via the API’, and click on “Save.”
D. Test the Connection
In order to verify that the connection has been successfully established, we will add a subscriber to Mailchimp and then confirm that the received response is accurate.
Click on the ‘Re-Capture Webhook Response’ button, and proceed by adding a subscriber to Mailchimp.
Expand the Response Received section, and ensure that the details of the added subscriber are visible, which will serve as confirmation that our connection has been established successfully.
Step 3:- Setup Interakt as the Action App to Send Messages
Action allows us to choose the application that will get executed by the workflow trigger.
Our objective is to send WhatsApp messages to every new subscriber added on Mailchimp. Hence, we will be using Mailchimp as our Action App.
A. Action App
Choose ‘Interakt’ as the Action App, select ‘Send WhatsApp Template Message’ as the Action Event, and click on ‘Connect’.
B. Connect Interakt Account
To connect your Interakt account, click on ‘Add New Connection’. You will be asked to provide your ‘Secret Key’.
Navigate to your Developer Settings, and copy the ‘Secret Key’.
Paste the copied ‘Secret Key’ into its designated field and then click on the ‘Save’ button.
C. Map the Necessary Fields
Having successfully connected your Interakt account, the next step is to map the subscriber details from the previous step. Mapping allows our data to remain dynamic and adaptable based on the received responses.
Enter the Country Code and map the Phone Number from the previous step.
To locate the Template Code Name, access the template you would like to use for sending the message, retrieve the Template Code Name from the URL, and insert it into the designated field.
Enter the Language Code of your template.
In our message template, there are Body Variable Values which allow us to include placeholders that will be replaced with particular information in your message, such as names, email addresses, dates, times, ID numbers, and other data. To add a body variable to your template, just enclose your variables within double curly braces {{variable}}.
In the Body Variable Values field, insert the data that you want to replace the variable values with.
Similarly, choose / map the other fields, leaving any irrelevant ones blank, and click on ‘Save & Send Test Request’.
Once you click on Save & Send Test Request, a WhatsApp message will be sent to the newly added Mailchimp subscriber.
Our automation process is complete, and we have effectively integrated Mailchimp with Interakt. From this point forward, every time a new subscriber is added to your Mailchimp account, they will automatically receive a WhatsApp message via Interakt, confirming their subscription.
