The focus of this post is to demonstrate the process of integrating Reddit with Notion. Once integrated, any new post created on Reddit will be automatically saved in your Notion database.
This automation requires a one-time setup, for which we will use Pabbly Connect.
The process involves linking Reddit with Pabbly Connect to capture new posts and then linking Pabbly Connect with Notion to store the captured posts as items in the Notion database.
Steps to Automatically Integrate Reddit with Notion Database
1. Sign In / Sign Up to Pabbly Connect and Create a Workflow
2. Setup Reddit as the Trigger App to Capture New Posts
3. Setup Notion as the Action App to Save Posts
Step 1:- Sign In / Sign Up to Pabbly Connect and Create a Workflow
A. Sign In / Sign Up
To begin this process, visit Pabbly Connect and create your account by clicking on the ‘Sign Up Free’ button. You can also click on Sign In if you already have an account.
Click on the Pabbly Connect ‘Access Now’ button
B. Create Workflow
To create a new workflow, click the ‘Create Workflow’ button.
Name your workflow, and click on ‘Create’.
Step 2:- Setup Reddit as the Trigger App to Capture New Posts
We will now look at the steps through which we will establish a link between Reddit and Pabbly Connect. This will allow us to fetch recently created posts from Reddit.
A. Trigger App
Trigger allows us to choose the application that will receive the data for Pabbly Connect. In our case, it would be Reddit.
Choose ‘Reddit’ as the Trigger App, select ‘New Post’ as a Trigger Event, and click on ‘Connect’.
B. Connect Reddit Account
To connect with your Reddit account, select ‘Add New Connection’, and click on ‘Connect With Reddit’. Also, grant the authorization.
Enter the name of the Subreddit from which you would like to capture posts, and click on ‘Save & Send Test Request’.
As you click on Save & Send Test Request, the information regarding the most recent post will be recorded.
Step 3:- Setup Notion as the Action App to Save Posts
Our main objective is to save the captured Reddit posts as items in the Notion database. Therefore, Notion will be our Action App.
A. Action App
Choose ‘Notion’ as your Action App, select ‘Create Database Item’ as an Action Event, and click on ‘Connect’.
B. Connect Notion Account
To connect with your Notion account, select ‘Add New Connection’, and click on ‘Connect With Notion’.
Select the Database where you want to store the posts.
Once you’ve chosen your database, the properties of this database will appear as fields in your Action Step.
C. Map Necessary Fields
After connecting your Notion account, you simply need to map the required details from the previous steps. Mapping helps to ensure that our data remains dynamic and adapts to changes based on the received responses.
Map the Title of the post from the previous step.
Similarly, map the other fields, and click on ‘Save & Send Test Request’.
The moment you click on Save & Send Test Request, the post will be saved in your Notion database.
Our automation is complete. We have successfully integrated Reddit with Notion. Whenever you create a new post on Reddit, it will be automatically stored in your Notion database.
