How to Automatically Add New Pipedrive Contacts as Subscribers in Mailchimp | Pipedrive Mailchimp Integration

This post will cover the process of integrating Pipedrive with Mailchimp. As a result of the integration, any new contact you add to Pipedrive will be automatically added as a subscriber to your Mailchimp account.
This automation requires a one-time setup, for which we will use Pabbly Connect.
Initially, we will link Pipedrive with Pabbly Connect to capture newly added person details. Subsequently, we will link Pabbly Connect with Mailchimp and use the captured details to add subscribers.

Steps to Automatically Add New Pipedrive Contacts as Mailchimp Subscribers

1. Sign In / Sign Up to Pabbly Connect and Create a Workflow
2. Setup Pipedrive as the Trigger App to Fetch New Contacts
3. Setup Mailchimp as the Action App to Add New Subscribers

Step 1:- Sign In / Sign Up to Pabbly Connect and Create a Workflow

A. Sign In / Sign Up

To begin this process, visit Pabbly Connect and create your account by clicking on the ‘Sign Up Free’ button. You can also click on Sign In if you already have an account.

Click on the Pabbly Connect ‘Access Now’ button

B. Create Workflow

To create a new workflow, click the ‘Create Workflow’ button.

Name your workflow, and click on ‘Create’.

Step 2:- Setup Pipedrive as the Trigger App to Fetch New Contacts

Let us now examine the process of setting up a link between Pipedrive and Pabbly Connect, which will allow us to collect data on any newly added contacts in Pipedrive.

A. Trigger App

Trigger allows us to choose the application that will receive the data for Pabbly Connect. In our case, it would be Pipedrive.

Choose ‘Pipedrive’ as the Trigger App, select ‘New Person’ as the Trigger Event, and click on ‘Connect’.

B. Connect Pipedrive Account

To connect with your Pipedrive account, click on ‘Add New Connection’. You will then be prompted to enter an API Token. To obtain this token, click on the ‘account’ button and log in to your Pipedrive account. From there, you can locate the API Token.

You will be redirected to your Pipedrive dashboard. Click the ‘Profile Icon’ > ‘Personal preferences’.

In Pipedrive, select ‘API’ and copy the API Token. Then, go back to Pabbly Connect and paste the API Token in the field provided for it. Finally, click on ‘Save’ to complete the connection process.

Copy the Company Domain from the URL of your Pipedrive account and paste it into the corresponding field in Pabbly Connect, and click on ‘Save & Send Test Request’.

Upon clicking Save & Send Test Request, Pabbly Connect will begin searching for data from Pipedrive. This is indicated by the rotating Waiting For Response button.

C. Test Connection

To verify that the connection has been successfully established, we will create a new person in Pipedrive and then check for any Received Responses in Pabbly Connect.

Expand the Received Responses section in Pabbly Connect to view the details of the newly added contact. If the information is visible, this serves as confirmation that the connection between Pipedrive and Pabbly Connect has been successfully established.

Step 3:- Setup Mailchimp as the Action App to Add New Subscribers

Action allows us to choose the application that will get executed by the workflow trigger.
Our main objective is to add the contacts obtained from Pipedrive as Mailchimp subscribers. Thus, Mailchimp will be the designated Action App.

A. Action App

Choose ‘MailChimp’ as the Action App, select ‘Add New Members with Custom Fields’ as an Action Event, and click on ‘Connect’.

B. Connect Mailchimp Account

To connect with your Mailchimp account, select ‘Add New Connection’. You will then be prompted to enter your API Key/Token and Data Center.

Navigate to your Mailchimp dashboard, and click on ‘Profile’ > ‘Account & billing’.

Click on ‘Extras’ > ‘API Keys’.

Scroll down, and click on ‘Create A Key’.

Provide a name for the API Key, and then click on ‘Generate Key’.

Copy the API Key that you just generated as well as the Data Center information from the URL, paste both in their designated fields, and click on ‘Save’.

Choose the Audience List where you want to add the subscribers.

C. Map the Necessary Fields

Since we have already captured the contact details from Pipedrive in the previous step, our next step is to map those details. Mapping will ensure that our data is dynamic and changes in accordance with the received responses.

Map the Email Address from the previous step.

Similarly, map the other required fields, leaving the unnecessary ones empty, and click on ‘Save & Send Test Request’.

Once you click on ‘Save & Send Test Request’, a new subscriber will be immediately added to your designated Mailchimp account.

Our automation setup is now complete. We have successfully integrated Pipedrive with Mailchimp. As a result, any new contact added to your Pipedrive account will now be automatically added as a subscriber to your Mailchimp List.
