In this section, you will learn how to automatically add contacts to your MyPipeline account using Facebook Lead Ads data and send these leads an email.
We will capture the data from Facebook Lead Ads, and send this data to MyPipeline to be added as contacts. We will then send these leads an email on their Gmail account. This automation requires just a one-time setup, for which we will use Pabbly Connect.
Steps to Automatically add Facebook Leads as MyPipeline Contacts and Send them an Email
1. Sign In / Sign Up to Pabbly Connect and Create a Workflow
2. Establish a connection between Facebook Lead Ads and Pabbly Connect
3. Setup MyPipeline as the Action App
4. Add Text Formatter to the Workflow
5. Map the necessary details from the steps above
6. Send an email to MyPipeline Contacts
Step 1:- Sign In / Sign Up to Pabbly Connect and Create a Workflow
A. Sign In / Sign Up
To begin this process, visit Pabbly Connect and create your account by clicking on the ‘Sign Up Free’ button. You can also click on Sign In if you already have an account.
Click on the Pabbly Connect ‘Access Now’ button
B. Create Workflow
To create a new workflow, click the ‘Create Workflow’ button.
Name your workflow, and click on ‘Create’.
Step 2:- Establish a connection between Facebook Lead Ads and Pabbly Connect
We will now look at the steps through which we will establish a link between Facebook Lead Ads and Pabbly Connect. This will help us to fetch the lead details from Facebook Form responses.
A. Trigger App
Trigger allows us to choose the application that will receive the data for Pabbly Connect. In our case, it would be Facebook Lead Ads.
Expand the trigger step, choose ‘Facebook Lead Ads’ as the Trigger App, and select ‘New Lead (Instant)’ as your Trigger Event. Click on ‘Connect’. Doing this will result in Facebook Lead Ads sending data directly to Pabbly Connect whenever a new lead is generated.
Select ‘Add New Connection’, and click on ‘Connect With Facebook Lead Ads’. Also, grant the authorization.
B. Establish Connection
Select the Facebook page on which you are running the lead ads, and choose the LeadGen Form you want to link with Pabbly Connect. Click on ‘Save And Send Test Request’.
As soon as you click on ‘Save And Send Test Request’, Pabbly Connect will start looking to fetch data from Facebook Lead Ads indicated by the rotating ‘Waiting for Webhook Response Button’.
C. Test the Connection
To fetch the lead details, we will use the ‘Facebook Lead Ads testing tool’, which will help us create a dummy lead. Upon submission of this dummy lead, Pabbly Connect will capture the data from Facebook Lead Ads to test our established connection.
Click on ‘Facebook Lead Ads testing tool’
You will be redirected to the Lead Ads Testing Tool, where you need to create a dummy lead.
Select the Page and Form you want to link, and click on ‘Preview form’
Fill out this dummy form, click on ‘Next’, and ‘Submit’ this form.
Switch back to Pabbly Connect, expand Response Received, and our dummy details must be visible, thus confirming our established connection.
We have established a link between Facebook Lead Ads and Pabbly Connect. Pabbly Connect will now automatically fetch the details of any new leads.
Step 3:- Setup MyPipeline as the Action App
A. Action App
Action allows us to choose the application that will get executed by the workflow trigger.
Since we want to create a contact in MyPipeline using the data received from Facebook Leads, MyPipeline will be our Action App.
Choose ‘MyPipeline’ as your Action App, and select ‘Create Contact’ as an Action Event, this would make MyPipeline create a new contact. Click on ‘Connect’.
B. Connect with MyPipeline
To connect your MyPipeline account, select ‘Add New Connection’. You would be asked for a Token.
To find your Token / API Key, go to your MyPipeline account dashboard, and click on ‘Settings’ at the bottom left corner.
Scroll down, and copy the API Key
Paste the API Key, and click on ‘Save’
We have successfully connected our MyPipeline account.
Step 4:- Add Text Formatter to the Workflow
Once your account is connected, you will see new fields asking for lead details.
These fields require you to fill in the First and Last names of your lead separately. But the data we fetched from Facebook Lead Ads has a Full Name. To split this full name into two separate fields, we need to add a Text Formatter to our workflow.
A. Add Action Step
Add another action step between the trigger and action app by clicking the ‘+’ button.
B. Add a Text Formatter
Choose ‘Text Formatter by Pabbly’ as your app, and select ‘Split Text’ as your action event. Click on ‘Connect’.
In Text to Split Field, map the Full Name from above
Add ‘{{space}}’ as your Separator to split the text on either side of the space.
To retain the entire data on either side of the space, select ‘All’ as the Segment Index, and click ‘Save And Send Test Request’.
Full Name has now split into First and Last Names.
Reauthorize the connection by clicking on ‘Connected’
Then click on the ‘Save’ button
Step 5:- Map the necessary details from the steps above
We will now fill up the fields by mapping the details from above. With mapping, the data remains dynamic and changes as new entries are added.
Map the First Name from above.
Similarly, map the other fields to create a contact. Leave the unnecessary ones empty.
Click on ‘Save & Send Test Request’
After clicking on Save & Send Test Request, you will receive a response confirming the connection.
The contact got added to our MyPipeline account.
Step 6:- Send an email to MyPipeline Contacts
Now that we have set up MyPipeline as our Action App, leads will automatically get added to your account as contacts. Let’s see how we can send an email to these contacts.
A. Add an Action Step
Add another Action Step by clicking the ‘+’ button.
B. Setup Gmail as the Action App
Choose ‘Gmail’ as your Action App, select ‘Send Email’ as an Action Event, and click on ‘Connect’.
C. Connect with Gmail account
To connect your Gmail account, select ‘Add New Connection’, and click on ‘Connect With Gmail’. Also, grant the authorization. This account will be used for sending the emails.
D. Enter Additional Details
Now that our Gmail account is connected, we can fill in the necessary details.
Map the Recipient Email Address from above.
Enter the Subject of your email. If you wish, you can also add a Sender Name.
E. Email Content
Enter your Email Content, and map the lead details from the step above. The lead details need to be mapped since these leads are dynamic and will change upon receiving a new response.
Attach a file if you have any, click on ‘Save & Send Test Request’
Our lead has received the email, thus confirming our connection.
To sum it up, we established a link between Facebook Lead Ads and Pabbly Connect to capture the lead details, then sent those leads to MyPipeline to be added as contacts. And at last, sent an email to those leads at their Gmail address.
You have successfully integrated your Facebook Leads Ads account with MyPipeline and Gmail. Now whenever a new lead responds to your Facebook form, they will automatically be added as a contact on MyPipeline and receive an email on their Gmail address.
