Automatically Add New Pipedrive Activities as Tasks in Asana | Pipedrive Asana Integration

Let us discuss how you can integrate Pipedrive with Asana. Once the integration is complete, any new activity created in your Pipedrive account will automatically be added as a task in your Asana account.
This automation requires a one-time setup, for which we will use Pabbly Connect.
To accomplish this, we will first link Pipedrive with Pabbly Connect to capture the newly created activities. We will then link Pabbly Connect with Asana and use the captured activities to create tasks in Asana.

Steps to Automatically Add New Pipedrive Activities as Asana Tasks

1. Sign In / Sign Up to Pabbly Connect and Create a Workflow
2. Setup Pipedrive as the Trigger App to Capture New Activities
3. Setup Asana as the Action App to Create New Tasks

Step 1:- Sign In / Sign Up to Pabbly Connect and Create a Workflow

A. Sign In / Sign Up

To begin this process, visit Pabbly Connect and create your account by clicking on the ‘Sign Up Free’ button. You can also click on Sign In if you already have an account.

Click on the Pabbly Connect ‘Access Now’ button

B. Create Workflow

To create a new workflow, click the ‘Create Workflow’ button.

Name your workflow, and click on ‘Create’.

Step 2:- Setup Pipedrive as the Trigger App to Capture New Activities

Now, let’s take a look at the steps involved in establishing a connection between Pipedrive and Pabbly Connect. This connection will enable us to gather information on any newly created activities.

A. Trigger App

Trigger allows us to choose the application that will receive the data for Pabbly Connect. In our case, it would be Pipedrive.

Choose ‘Pipedrive’ as the Trigger App, select ‘New Activity’ as the Trigger Event, and click on ‘Connect’.

B. Connect Pipedrive Account

To connect with your Pipedrive account, click on ‘Add New Connection’. You will then be prompted to enter an API Token. To obtain this token, click on the ‘account’ button and log in to your Pipedrive account. From there, you can locate the API Token.

You will be redirected to your Pipedrive dashboard. Click the ‘Profile Icon’ > ‘Personal preferences’.

In Pipedrive, select ‘API’ and copy the API Token. Then, go back to Pabbly Connect and paste the API Token in the field provided for it. Finally, click on ‘Save’ to complete the connection process.

Copy the Company Domain from the URL of your Pipedrive account and paste it into the corresponding field in Pabbly Connect, and click on ‘Save & Send Test Request’.

Once you click on Save & Send Test Request, Pabbly Connect will initiate its search for data from Pipedrive. This is indicated by the rotating Waiting For Response button.

C. Test Connection

To test the established connection, we will create a new activity in Pipedrive and check for any Received Responses in Pabbly Connect.

Expand Response Receive, where the details of your newly created activity should be visible. This confirms that the connection between Pipedrive and Pabbly Connect has been successfully established.

Step 3:- Setup Asana as the Action App to Create New Tasks

Action allows us to choose the application that will get executed by the workflow trigger.
Our primary goal is to use the information captured from Pipedrive activities to create new tasks in Asana. To achieve this, we will use Asana as our Action App.

A. Action App

Choose ‘Asana’ as your Action App, select ‘Create a Task’ as an Action Event, and click on ‘Connect.

B. Connect Asana Account

To connect with your Asana account, select ‘Add New Connection’, and click on ‘Connect With Asana’.

Select the Workspace and Project ID where you want the newly created tasks to be added.

C. Map Necessary Fields

After connecting your Asana account, the next step is to map the activity details from the previous step. Mapping is essential to maintain the dynamic nature of our data, which adjusts based on the responses received.

Map Task Name from the step above.

Similarly, select / map the remaining fields and leave the ones that are not necessary empty. Finally, click on ‘Save & Send Test Request’.

Once you click on ‘Save & Send Test Request’, a new task will be added to your Asana task list.

We have accomplished our automation task by seamlessly integrating Pipedrive and Asana. As a result, any new activity created in your Pipedrive account will now be automatically added as a task in your Asana account.
