Let us look at how you can integrate YouTube with Google Sheets, and automatically save newly uploaded YouTube video details in your Google Sheets spreadsheet.
This automation requires a one-time setup, for which we will use Pabbly Connect.
We will first link YouTube with Pabbly Connect to capture the uploaded video details, then link Pabbly Connect with Google Sheets and store the captured details in Google Sheets.

2. Setup YouTube as the Trigger App to Capture Video Details
3. Setup YouTube as the Action App to Fetch the Complete Description
4. Add Date / Time Formatter to Correct Date Format

Name your workflow, and click on ‘Create’.
Step 2:- Setup YouTube as the Trigger App to Capture Video Details
We will now look at the steps to establish a link between YouTube and Pabbly Connect – This will help us fetch the details of the recently uploaded videos on your YouTube Channel.
A. Trigger App
Trigger allows us to choose the application that will receive the data for Pabbly Connect. In our case, it would be YouTube.
Choose ‘YouTube’ as the Trigger App, select ‘New Video in Channel with Video URL’ as a Trigger Event, and click on ‘Connect’.
B. Connect YouTube Account
To connect with your YouTube account, select ‘Add New Connection’ and click on ‘Connect With YouTube’. Also, grant the authorization.
Select the Channel ID, and click on ‘Save & Send Test Request’.
Expand Response Received to find the details of the latest uploaded video, thus confirming our connection.
Step 3:- Setup YouTube as the Action App to Fetch the Complete Description
Action allows us to choose the application that will get executed by the workflow trigger.
The data we captured from YouTube contains an incomplete video description. To make it whole, we will set up YouTube as the Action App.
A. Action App
Choose ‘YouTube’ as your Action App, select ‘List Video by ID’ as an Action Event, and click on ‘Connect’.
B. Connect YouTube Account
To connect with your YouTube account, select ‘Add New Connection’ and click on ‘Connect With YouTube’. Also, grant the authorization.
Map the Video ID from the step above, and click on ‘Save & Send Test Request’.
When you click on Save & Send Test Request, a list of categories will automatically be captured.
Step 4:- Add Date / Time Formatter to Correct Date Format
The Date we captured from YouTube is in an incorrect format. Before saving the details in Google Sheets, we will correct its format by adding a Date/Time Formatter to our workflow.
Choose ‘Date/Time Formatter by Pabbly’ as the Action App, select ‘Format Date with Time Zone’ as an Action App, and click on ‘Connect’.
Map the Date and Time from the trigger step.
In From Format, select the current format of your date, and in To Format, select the format you want to convert your date into.
Select From and To Timezone, and click on ‘Save & Send Test Request’.
Step 5:- Setup Google Sheets as the Action App to Save Video Details
Action allows us to choose the application that will get executed by the workflow trigger.
We essentially want to save the captured video details in Google Sheets. Thus, Google Sheets will be our Action App.
A. Action App
Choose ‘Google Sheets’ as the Action App, select ‘Add New Row’ as an Action Event, and click on ‘Connect’.
B. Connect Google Sheets Account
To connect with your Google Sheets account, select ‘Add New Connection’, and click on ‘Connect With Google Sheets’. Also, grant the authorization.
Select the Spreadsheet and Sheet where you want to store your data.
As soon as you select your sheet, the columns of this sheet will start reflecting as fields in your Action Step.
C. Map Necessary Fields
Now that you have connected your Google Sheets account, all you need is to map the necessary details from the step above. Mapping ensures our data remains dynamic and changes as per the received responses.
Map the Video Title from the step above.
Similarly, map the other details, and click on ‘Save & Send Test Request’.
The moment you click on Save & Send Test Request, the video details will automatically be saved in your Google Sheets spreadsheet.
Our automation is complete. We have successfully integrated YouTube with Google Sheets. Each time you upload a new video on your YouTube channel, it will automatically be saved in your Google Sheets spreadsheet.
